Aaron Darrell Spears 71, born April 12, 1954 in Olmstead, Illinois to parents Ella Sutton and Robert Spears, Sr. He was affectionately known as Darrell and he transitioned on September 29, 2025.

Aaron worked in Construction for many years and then for temporary agencies. One thing that everyone knew about him was that he loved good music and would often be singing along at Church with the Praise Team. He definitely loved his Church and he was named an honorary Deacon. He was a faithful member of Living Word Tabernacle Church. Aaron lived with his sister and brother in love `for most of his latter years. When you called him Deacon, he would give you a big smile. Darrell never had any children but he a lot of nieces and nephews that he treated like his own children..

Aaron is survived by his brothers: Clarence Stovall, John Spears, and Charles Spears all of Chicago, Illinois and Robert Spears of  Joliet, Illinois. Sisters: Gladys Guyton, Chicago, Illinois, Alma Terry Joliet, Illinois and Lorraine ( Cabot) Tomlinson of Rockford, Illinois with whom he resided. Many nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved very much. ,He was predeceased by his sisters, Grace Loving, Dorothy Mayes and Lennie Mae Jenkins, brothers: Talmadge and Melvin Stovall.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.  Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
