General Elder, Alice Ruth Wooding of Rockford departed this earthly life May 23, 2022. She was born November 29, 1933 in Moultrie, Georgia; the daughter of Henrietta Singleton and Marshall High. Alice lived in Rockford since 1972 coming from Hartford, Connecticut. She married  Leroy Roberts, April of 1948, he preceded her in death.  Alice was the Senior Pastor of The House of God Church Keith Dominion in Beloit, Wisconsin 37 years before becoming ill. She served as presiding Elder and General Elder over the Diocese of Wisconsin and Illinois.  Alice graduated from The House of God Bible College and Academy.

General Elder Alice Wooding leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughter, Betty Roberts; five grandchildren, Terrence Roberts, Allyson Roberts, James Roberts, Tyrika Roberts and Roberta Hardt; 8 great grandchildren; and sister, Versie Trammell; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Leroy Roberts Jr., and Leon Roberts; two brothers, Robert Lee and Henry Lee ; also special Mentor and Pastor of many years, Bishop Mae Daisy Whitehead.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 St.. Paul C.O.G.I.C. 1001 Bishop Washington Ave. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home  200 N. Johnston Ave.
