Allen Nabors Sr. of Rockford departed this earthly life October 20, 2024. He was born August 20, 1931 in Jackson, Mississippi the son of Tommie and Jessie Nabors. Allen lived in Rockford since 1947 coming from Jackson. He married the former Shirley Howard, of this union 6 children were born. Allen was employed 40 years as a mechanic by Abe's Auto Parts before retiring and employed before by Rockford Black Top. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness, worshiping at the Riverside location.  Allen attended school while in Mississippi.

Allen leaves to cherish many loving memories, his daughters, Joice Benton and Shawnee (Larry) Purifoy and two sons, Terry Nabors and Tommy (Gina) Nabors; 21 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; 5 nieces, and 1 nephew a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Tommie and Jessie Nabors; daughter, Shiretta Woodard; and sons Allen Nabors Jr; and Timothy Nabors Sr.

Special thanks to the 7th floor Nursing Staff at UW Swedish American Hospital for the 2 day comfort care, including Laura, Anna, Angie, Libby and others. We would also like to thank Amberwood Nursing Facility for their total care, from housekeeping to C.N.A. care.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time  of service.
