Archie T. Reed, 78 of Cherry Valley IL departed this earthly life April 7, 2025. He was born November 4, 1946 in Brownsville Tennessee. The son of Willie L. Sr. and Lue Birder Reed. Archie lived in Rockford since 1966. He retired December 2024 from Accuride/Gunite after 43+ years as a dedicated valued employee. He graduated from Carver High School in Tennessee class of 1966. He loved to grill, mentor co-workers and a pet lover.

Archie married twice; his first wife Audrey Reed in 1966. Then later to Karen Reed both preceded Archie in death. From those unions Archie had five children and one step-child. Artemus Reed, Andrea Hemby, Adrianne Reed, Atesha Reed, Christian Reed and Chirstina Fulkerson. Grandchildren: Artavis Reed, Asia Reed, Tristen Hemby, Patrick Gipson Jr., Leona Reed, Mikayla & Ethen Fulkerson. Great Grandchild Amaris Reed. Siblings; Oliver (Pearline) Reed, Willie L Reed Jr. of Belvidere IL., Bennie (Sarah A) Reed, Warren (Marilyn) Reed of Rockford IL, Lunnie Tyus, Cordie S (James) Turner, Toni (Dave) Simmons all of Brownsville, TN., Richard (Mammie) Crew and Debra Crew of Ripley TN.

Predeceased: Parents and sister Kathy Ann Reed Barlow.

Services 2:00 p.m.  Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Pilgrim Baptist Church 1703 S Central Ave.  Visitation 12:00 noon until the time of service. Visitation Friday, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m. at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
