Barbara Jean (Jones) Slone, of Rockford departed this earthly life April 8, 2023. She was born April 21, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Ejay and Eloise Jones. Barbara lived in Rockford since1962 coming from St. Louis. She married Felton E. Slone, April 20, 1996. Barbara retired from Septran as a bus driver for Special Needs Children. She graduated from Auburn High School.

Barbara love to laugh and compliment others and never met a stranger. She was a very spiritual person who loved astrology, reading and music. She was also an avid Facebook user and will be missed by all of her Facebook friends.

Barbara leaves to cherish many loving memories her loving husband Felton; daughter Lela (Billy) Jones; son James (Tina) Nolan; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grand children; sister Angela (Michael) Hall; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Johnny Jones; parents; sister, Deborah Jones, and two brothers: Herman Jones and Ejay Jones.

Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 18th 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
