Barbara Ann "Shack" Tripplett, of Rockford departed this earthly life January 11, 2022. She was born February 1, 1953 in Quitman, Mississippi the daughter of John and Johnnie Mae Watts. Barbara lived in Rockford 53 years coming from Chicago. She married Arthur Tripplett, May 18, 200,1 he preceded her in death.  Barbara was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant over 25 years being employed by Milestone and several nursing homes.  She was a former member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and attended other Rockford churches.  Barbara graduated from West High School, attended Rock Valley College, later to graduate from Rockford Business College.

Barbara leaves to cherish many loving memories, her son, Brandon (Jennifer Jensen) Watts; three daughters, Letitia Watts, Michelle Watts and Martini (Cedric) Watts-Sockwell; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Harvis (Deana) Watts; two sisters, Pamela Hanson and Jeanetta (Ronald) Keck; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, and brother, John Wesley Watts Jr.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Monday, January 24, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
