Brenda Ann Martin, born on February 23, 1955, passed away on October 5, 2026. She will be remembered as a woman who was small but mighty, and as someone who loved her family deeply.

Brenda attended West High School and went on to become a beautician, working at Javon’s Beauty Salon. She later dedicated 28 years to managing the M&M Market, where her steady presence and hard work became an important part of her life’s journey. She also attended Gomez Chapel AME Church.

Brenda’s life was marked by devotion to her work, her faith community, and, above all, the people she loved. Those who knew her will remember her strength, her commitment, and the care she carried for her family throughout her life.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 200 N. Johnston Ave., Rockford, IL 61101. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home.
