Bruce Lynell Wilson, of Rockford departed this earthly life January 26, 2025. He was born January 25, 1951 in Rockford, the son of Aaron and Ermma Wilson. Bruce was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.  He graduated from West High School and attended Rock Valley College.

Bruce leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Christia (Pastor Ivan) Hicks and Kushana Wilson; two sons, Michael (Fetiga) Wilson and Kenny (Shalisha ) Boles;  16 grandchildren;   great grandchildren; mother Ermma Pope; three sisters, Karen Wilson, Sharee Fluker and Evelyn (Min. Walter Flannigan) Chrissy Johnson-Flannigan;  a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends; including step brothers, James (Christy) Flint, and James Donald (Victoria) Pope. He was predeceased by his father, Aaron Wilson; daughter, Angela Freeman; ; and two brothers, Aaron Wilson and Ricky Wilson; and sister, Belinda Wilson; and step sister, Veronica Wells.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
