Minister Cabot G. Tomlinson, age 72, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully following an extended illness on December 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.

Cabot was born on November 14, 1953, in Joliet, Illinois to the late Cabot Tomlinson Sr. and Betty (Tomlinson) Gregory. A man of deep faith, Cabot was a devoted member of Living Word Tabernacle in Rockford, Illinois under the leadership of Pastor Edwyna Owens. His faith guided his life and was evident in his kindness, humility, devotion to family, and willingness to serve others. He touched many lives through his work, ministry, volunteer service, and the genuine care and compassion he extended to all.

Cabot is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine Tomlinson; his daughter, Kenya Tomlinson of Freeport, Illinois, sons Charles Spears of Detroit, Michigan, Russell (Nicole) Spears God-son Frankie Sanders also of Rockford.

He is also survived by his brothers Vernon Tomlinson and James Tomlinson of Rockford, Illinois, John Tomlinson of Minnesota, Jay P. Tomlinson of Milwaukee, and one sister Gloria Jean Tomlinson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Grandchildren: Ta'Corey and Zyrell of Freeport, Illinois and Demarcus Eubanks and Russell Spears Jr of Rockford.

He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday January 12th at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N Johnston Ave, Rockford, IL
