Carl Edward "Papa" Posley, of Rockford departed this earthly life August 29, 2023. He was born February 28, 1967 in Rockford the son of Henry and Ola Mae Posley. Carl married the former Daovone Vanmanivong, July 20, 1991. He was employed as an Assembly Technician by Chrysler Corporation over 30 years before retiring. Carl was a former member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He was a member of Evening Lions Club. Carl graduated from East High School class of 1986.

Carl leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife Daovone; son, Cameron (Rowen Raab) Posley; two grandchildren; Myles and Avie Posley; brother Chris Posley; foster sister, Tina (Eddie) Peoples; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Ethel Murphy; brother Tony Posley and nephew Sidney Posley. Special thanks friends and family, UW Health Rockford, IL CCU Department and the Smith Family.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Providence Baptist Church 2209 Clifton Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
