Carrie June "Green eyes" Johnston –Roberts, gained her wing on January 31, 2022. She was born March 30, 1964 to Robert and Lillian Johnston in Rockford. Carrie was employed as a caretaker by Dors Inc. She was formally employed by Warner Lambert and Anderson Packaging. Carrie graduated from East High School class of 1983. She was baptized as a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a proud member of the Majestic Choir. Carrie loved to sing and could sing. Carrie loved her big family; they were her rock. She was married to Terry Roberts.

Carrie leaves to cherish many memories, two daughters, Jennifer (Josh Morrow) Haley and Tiana Benjamin; two grandchildren, Monyae' and Kendriah Morrow; three sisters, Ruth Johnston, Barbara Jean Johnston and Margaret Johnston; brother George Lomax; two aunts, Essie Denny and Ethel Johnston; one uncle Perry Johnston; two godbrothers, Dion Hanserd and Shawn Reed; two goddaughters, Bridgette Prunty and Xica Flannigan, special cousin Brad Johnston and a host of other family and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents and grandparents. Carrie will be missed by her family and friends.

Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
