Catherine "Cat" Brown, of Rockford departed this earthly life September 10, 2023. She was born May 10, 1944 in Camden, Arkansas the daughter of Will and Nancy Jones. Catherine lived in Rockford since 1949 coming from Camden, Arkansas. She married Eugene Brown, December 8, 2001. Catherine was employed as a launderer many years. She was a member of St. Paul Church of God In Christ. She attended Auburn High School.

Catherine leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband, Eugene; daughter Tracey Jones; grandson, Damien Jones; and sister, Eloise Tennin; niece, Nancy Tennin; and great niece, Betty Allen; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Betty Coble; and niece, Evelyn Allen.

Services will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 11:00 a.m.  at St. Paul Church of God In Christ 1001 Bishop Washington Ave. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held  9:00 a.m. until the time of  service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
