Catherine "Cat" Jones of Rockford departed this earthly life May 28, 2022. She was born September 3, 1943 in Athens, Alabama the daughter Henderson and Mary Sowell. Catherine lived most of her life in Rockford coming from Athens Alabama. She married Donald K. Jones, he preceded her in death. Catherine was employed  in housekeeping by Rockford Memorial Hospital 25 years before retiring. She was a member of Faith Center in Freeport, IL, where she served as a Mother. She attended West High School later to receive her G.E.D.

Catherine leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Jennifer (Johnail Yance) Williams and Donna K. Jones; three sons, Michael (Susie) Sowell, Anthony E. Sowell, and Carlos Jones; 10 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren; sister, Queen  Benford; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, husband; son, Cassius Jones; sister, Joann Sowell; four brothers, Henderson Sowell Jr., Billy Joe Sowell, Benny Sowell and Larry Sowell.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Faith Center 203 W. Pleasant St. Freeport, IL 61032. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
