Charles Edward Wilson of Rockford departed this life January 5, 2024. He was born October 26, 1940 in Chidester, Arkansas the son of King and Corine Wilson. Charles lived in Rockford over 60 years coming from Arkansas. He married the former Dorothy Gulley, November 18, 1961. Charles was employed as a foundry supervisor by Mattison Machine Works 30 years before their closing. He attended Providence Baptist Church. Charles was a former Masonic. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Camden, Arkansas.

Charles leaves to cherish many loving memoires his wife Dorothy; two sons, Ronnie Wilson and Rickey Wilson; brother, Roosevelt (Stella) Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parent; three sisters; Rose Wilson, and  Jean Braggs; two brothers, Howard and Herbert Wilson.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service
