Charlotte Marie Martin, of Rockford departed this life Saturday, May 11, 2024 in Granger, IN. She was born March 9, 1937 in Freeport, IL the daughter of Albert and Jessie Johnson. Charlotte lived in Rockford 68 years coming from Freeport, recently relocating to Granger, IN a year ago. She retired as a Systems Analyst, after 35 years at Sundtrand Corporation, later becoming employed by Bergner's over 25 years before retiring again. Charlotte was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  She graduated from Freeport High School and attended Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana and Rock Valley College.

Charlotte leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughter, Tamara Collins; two sons, Craig Martin and Tracey Martin; four grandchildren, Kelli, Melissa (Kelcey), Justin and Christopher (Amanda) ; five great grandchildren; sister, Elaine "Michaelle" Rooker; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Doris "Jeannie" Miller; brother, Floyd L. "Buck" Johnson; daughter in law, Dawn S. Martin; and son in law, Emmett L. Collins.

Services will be held 11:00a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 at New Zion Baptist Church 4726 Jasper St. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
