Obituary

Claudia Mae Marshall, age 86, was born on November 4, 1939, in Cascilla, Mississippi, to the late William and Azzie Lee Marshall. Claudia passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Claudia was raised in Batesville, Mississippi. During her teenage years, while attending Powerhouse Church of God in Christ in Batesville, she accepted Christ and received the power of the Holy Ghost. She attended Panola High School. After graduating, Claudia moved to Chicago, Illinois, and later relocated to Rockford, Illinois. While in Rockford, Claudia became a member of Eagle Christian Fellowship under the leadership of the late Pastor J.R. McFadden. Following Pastor McFadden’s passing, she joined Living Faith Tabernacle under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Miller. Claudia was a dedicated and hardworking woman. In Rockford, she earned her CNA license and began her career at Swedish American Hospital. She later became employed at River Bluff Nursing Home, where she faithfully served for 30 years before retiring. Claudia enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She was also a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. She lived her life to the fullest and took great pride in raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She instilled in them the importance of fearing God, honoring their family, and remembering the legacy carried in the Marshall name. She would often remind them, “We are Marshalls. Our name carries weight. Don’t disappoint her.” Claudia’s love, wisdom, strength, and faith will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.          Claudia leaves to cherish her memory: Her two sons, Anthony (Judith) Marshall and Carl Marshall; Her two daughters, Niecy (Eric) Blunt and Dianne McKinney; Her godchildren, Percy (Mary) Lewis, Bryant McLin, Royce Dixon, Willie McCoy, and Robert Duboise; Her sister, Katchie Jean (James) Hyatt;  her special friends, whom she loved like sisters, AKA “The Golden Girls” Helen Williams, Florence Scott, and Mary Louise Glenn;
