Corey Lamont Kidd, of Rockton, IL departed this earthly life on March 29, 2026. He was born on May 5, 1981, in Rockford, the son of Anthony and Sheron Kidd. Corey married the former April-Mae Creighton on November 21, 2010.

He was employed as a 7th- and 8th-grade basketball coach at Stephen Mack Middle School in Rockton, Illinois. He also worked as an inventory control specialist for Quest Global. Corey coached for the Chitown Bulldogs and at many other programs, specializing in basketball and football.

He graduated from East High School, Class of 1999, and later earned his Associate's degree while in San Diego, California.

Corey leaves to cherish many loving memories: his wife, April-Mae Kidd; two sons, Corey Kidd Jr. and Cameron Kidd; his mother, Sheron (Martin) Geeters; three brothers, twin brother Collen Kidd, Christian (Amber) Kidd, and Bryan Jackson; his mother-in-law, Phylliss Lis; his maternal grandmother, Lavon Primm; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Kidd, and his paternal grandmother, Virgie Kidd.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at City First, 5950 Spring Creek Road. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
