Courtney S. "Grass" Williams of Rockford departed this earthly life September 15, 2023. He was born April 4, 1965 in Charleston, MO the son of Williestene Williams and Ernest Menzie. Courtney lived in Rockford since 1983 coming from Mounds, IL. Courtney was employed as a hammer operator by Estwing. He recently rededicated his life to Christ and joined Bridge of Hope Church while in Bloomington, IL. He attended Meridian High School.

Courtney leaves to cherish many loving memories, his daughter Iyesha (Aaron) Anderson; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters; Macy Cole, Sharon (Willie) Dockett and Teresa (Anthony)Fambro; seven brothers, Donnie (Ellen) Williams, Jerome (Yvette) Cole, Mark (Evelyn) Williams, Douglas Williams, Joe (Doris) Williams, Lonnie (Davidia) Williams and David (Stephanie) Williams; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Samuel Cole.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church 1112 Taylor Street. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
