Cynthia Ann Sallis-Weatherby of Rockford, IL, departed this earthly life Monday, August 9, 2021, after a long illness. Cynthia was born September 18,
1959,
in Rockford, IL, the daughter of John C. "Fruit" & Costella (Moss) Sallis. Cynthia attended Rockford schools and was a member of Hope Fellowship Church.
Big Cynt was a friend to everyone! She talked big stuff, she spent big money, but most of all, she loved everyone with a big heart.
Cynthia leaves to cherish a large family. Her daughters; Destany,
Marlisha (Keshawn Roberts) Bailey and Niteasha Haley; her sons; Tywan, Corllis, Christopher, DeMarcus (Netta), Rashad and
Corionne Weatherby; her father, John C. "Fruit" Sallis; Brothers, Kenny Forest, and Keith Thompson; Sisters, Angie Garrett, Summer Sallis, Bianca Holiday and Whitney Sallis, twenty three grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins from the Sallis and Moss family's. Cynthia's heart was so full of love but there was an extra special place reserved for her Grandson Lil Mario and her cousin
Chucky Richardson.
Predeceased by her husband, John Weatherby; her son Mario Sallis; her Brother, Brian Sallis; her sister, Linda Redd-Fultz; Mother,
Costella Sallis; grandparents, Rufus & Ethel Sallis; Cal Windon & Ethel Moss and a number of other extended family members.
The family would like to give a special thank you to The OSF St. Anthony Critical Care Unit Staff and the many healthcare providers that provided care to her over the years.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Hope Fellowship 1135 E. State Street. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc.
