Dave Arnel Herman "Dude" 41 of Anchorage, Alaska; transitioned from this life due to traumatic head injuries on February 27, 2023. He was born January 19, 1981 in Rockford, IL; to the union of David and Earnestine Herman.

David loved to cook and worked in many different types of restaurants, his love for cooking lead him to working on a ship. He also had a love for working on cars. Dave is preceded in death by both his parents, David and Earnestine Herman; and grandparents, Sylvester and Mary Lee Boose.

Dave leaves to cherish his memory; son, Ravon K. Tanner of Anchorage, Alaska; brother, John Carlos Dywane Boose of Rockford; sister Christina Steele and raised up like a sister Nakari Boose both of Rockford; grandmother Luvella Herman of Rolling Fork, MS; very special aunt, Joann Njuko of Wimauma, Florida; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
