Donald Lewis

Donald “Donny” Lewis, of Rockford, departed this earthly life on July 5, 2026. He was born on November 30, 1970, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Vollie and Josephine Love.

Donny was employed as a warehouse associate with Sherwin-Williams Company for 10 years. He graduated from West High School with the Class of 1989 and later attended Rasmussen University, where he pursued a degree in Business Management.

Donny leaves to cherish many fun loving memories, his four sons: Donnie Lewis, Aaron (Krystyonna) Lewis, Brandon (Madison) Lewis, and Donte Lewis; six special children whom he helped raise and loved as his own: Keenan (Ashley) Moore, Jason Ducksworth, William Ortiz, Destiny (Christian) Rodriguez, Oceanna McCoy, and Iyonna Abbey; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Lewis, Gary Lewis, James Lewis and Michael Lewis ; seven sisters, Annie Smith, Earlean Crawford , Katherine Holmes, Martha Lewis, Dorothy Little, Patricia Lewis and Michelle Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 200 N. Johnston Ave, Rockford, Illinois. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
