Doris was born March 24, 1949 in Rockford, Illinois. She is
the only child of Clinton (Pompy) and Dorothy Simpson.
Her parents proceeded her in death. Doris grew up in
Rockford and graduated from West High School. She
worked for many years including Testors from 1980-1986.
Doris met and married James Embrey and they were
blessed with two children, Shayla and James (Pete)
Embrey.
Doris is someone who was always willing to help others
especially her family and friends. She was the life of the
party and brought a smile to those around her.
Doris transitioned from this life to be with her parents on
December 13, 2023. She leaves to celebrate her life and
memories her children Shayla and James. Her grand
Children; Quavasiae, TyZere, Keileana, Laniyah, Milo, and
Noxx. Special friends Shirley and Lucinda.
