Dorothy M. Stewart of Rockford departed this earthly life July 26, 2023. She was born February 13, 1948 in Whiteville, TN the daughter of Irene Whitehorn-Woods. Dorothy lived in Rockford 48 years coming Hayti, MO. She married Jimmy Stewart, he preceded her in death. Dorothy was employed as a package handler by Warner Lambert, 28 years before retiring. She was a member of Spirit of Truth, serving on the Mothers Board.  Dorothy graduated from Hayti High School.

Dorothy leaves to cherish many loving memories, her son, Ricky (Scherronda) Williams; two daughters, Cathy Gant and Karen Stewart; three grandchildren; Quashawn (Jasmine) Hudson, Nia Gant and Shayna Patterson; one great granddaughter, Winter; two brothers, Lindell and Major (Peggy) Ragland; four sisters, Shirlene (Blanchard) Roberson, Yvonne Stewart, Glorious (David) Johnson and Brenda Ragland; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Irene Ragland; and brother, Lavern Ragland.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery
