Elizabeth Clarisse
Green
Nov 20, 1944 — Dec 17, 2022
Rockford
Elizabeth "Ms. Liz" Clarisse Green, of Rockford departed this earthly life on December 17, 2022. She was born November 20, 1944, in Rockford IL, the daughter of William "Pork Chops" Sherod Sr. and Leora "Sista" Sherod. Liz was a lifelong resident of Rockford and accepted Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Baptist Church. She was formerly married to Alfred Cain, of this union one child was born, Shauna. She married Willie Green in 1986; of this union one child was born, Sabrina; he preceded her in death.
Liz was employed as a Quality Assurance Inspector at Amerock Corporation for over 40 years. She graduated from West High School and continued her education at Rock Valley College.
Liz was a former member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and an active member at Allen Chapel AME Church as Chapel Class Leader, Greeter, Senior Ministry Coordinator, Kitchen Committee Volunteer and past Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School.
Liz never met a stranger. Her bigger than life personality, infectious smile, and ability to make you laugh were among many of her character traits.
