Ellen Louise Woodard of Rockford departed this earthly life April 30, 2022. She was born June 10, 1946 in Rockford the daughter of Era Walker Sr. and Isola Walker. Ellen married Willie Woodard, February 11, 1965, he preceded her in death. Ellen was employed as a care taker for many years, over 17 years at Orten Keys Daycare and in home health care 14 years by DORS.  She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness in which she attended the Rockford South Congregation. Ellen graduated from East High School and attended Rock Valley College.

Ellen leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Deidra (Fredrick) Barnes and Michele Woodard; two sons, Michael Woodard and Timothy (Kimberly) Woodard; eight grandchildren, Timothy Jr., Christopher, Ciaria, Olivia, Jalen, Justin, Joshua and Deon; sister, Sadie (Errol) Brooks; brother, Franklin and Joseph Walker; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband; parents; grandson, Jorail; four sisters; and six brothers.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Doors will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
