Elvin Woods of Rockford departed this earthly life May 17, 2024. He was born December 11, 1953 in Whiteville, TN the son Ozie Woods and Richrd Murphy. Elvin lived in Rockford since 1957 coming from Whiteville. He married the former Diana Smith, she preceded him in death. Elvin was employed as a machine operator by Ring Can 10 years before becoming ill.  He was a veteran of the US Army. He attended church in Tennessee. He attended West High School and graduated from Auburn High School.

Elvin leaves to cherish many loving memoires, his son, Richard Woods; and  daughter, Chiquita (Elando) Cheese; 10 grandchildren;  great grandchildren; brother, Linzell Woods; and sister, Jeanetta Wilkes and Vera Murphy; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Nakisha Woods; and serval brothers and sisters.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc.  Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
