Eric Jerone Gary of New Orleans, LA departed this earthly life July 17, 2024. He was born October 31, 1973 in Chicago, IL the son of Rosa Gary and Robert Thompson. Eric lived in Rockford over 30 years before relocating to Florida and New Orleans, LA. He was employed as a laborer in construction. Eric was a Sunni Muslim. Eric graduated from, East High School and Daytona State College receiving his Associated Degree.

Eric leaves to cherish many loving memories, his son, Eric Gary Jr; mother, Rosa Gary; sisters, Rosa Walton and Asanti Townsend-Johnson; brother, Robert Gary, William Gary, Larry Gary, Paul Gary, Charles "Chuck" Gary and Dasanti Townsend-Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father, Robert Thompson; sister, Katherine Gary; maternal grandparents Rosa Gary Sr. and Walter Gary; paternal grandparents, Madge Balkey and Henry Balkey and cousin, Troy Crecy.

Services will be held 12:00 noon, Monday July 29, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
