Ernestine D. Addison of Rockford departed this earthly February 17, 2023. She was born July 23, 1936 in Jackson, Tennessee the daughter of Allen and Ethel Threadgill. Ernestine lived in Rockford since 1959 coming from Minnesota. She married Rev. Roosevelt Addison, he preceded her in death. Ernestine was employed many years as a Domestic Engineer and a Certified Nurses Assistant by Wesley Willows. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Ernestine was a member of The Traveling Stars Gospel Group. She was a member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. She attended school in Tennessee, later receiving her diploma while in Rockford; and attended Moody Bible Institute.

Ernestine leaves to cherish many loving memories, two sons, Eddie L. (Delora) Love and Keith A. Love; seven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great and great great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Elizabeth Carter; two brothers, Rev. Charles Sr. (Octavia) Threadgill and Joseph Threadgill; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; four sisters; Ora Lee Burnett, Salley Mae Nichols, Corine Curry and Oneda Walker; four brothers,, Willie Threadgill, James Chatman Jr., Robert Threadgill, and James Murray; and grandson, Anthony Love.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church 2919 19th Street. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
