Ervin Eugene "Geno"  Malone,  of Rockford departed this earthly life November 17, 2024. He was born April 26, 1948 in Athens, Alabama the son of John Sr.  and Mary Malone.  Ervin lived in Rockford since 1969 coming from Athens. He married the former Linda Sue Woods February 27, 1969. Ervin was employed as an assembler by Chrysler Corporation, 33 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He attended schools in Athens.

Ervin leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife, Linda Sue; two daughters, Deonia and Felice Malone;  four grandchildren, Antoine Malone, Robin Horton, Brandon and Linesha Malone; two great grandchildren Elijah and Aria Malone; three sisters, Geraldine (Joe) Green, Jose Smith and Delois Martin;  three brothers, John (Mary) Malone, Louis (Sharon) Malone and Milton Malone; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Dezzie Baker; two nephews and two nieces; and godson, Milton Malone Jr.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church 2919 19th Street. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E Ponds Funeral Home Inc.
