Freddie Mae Matlock, of Rockford departed this earthly life July 24, 2021. She was born June 9, 1948 in Mt. Zion, Arkansas the daughter of Fred and Bertha Lily "Lovie" Matlock. She lived in Rockford since 1966 coming from Arkansas. Freddie married Bennie Matlock, March 16, 1963 In Arkansas. She was employed as a assembler, by Haldex Barnes over 25 years before retiring. Freddie was a member of Gomez Chapel A.M.E. Church, serving as a Stewardess, member of the Choir, Missionary, Class Leader, Sunday School Teacher and Steward. She attended schools Arkansas.

Freddie leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband of 58 years, Bennie; five sons, Victor (Kenyatta), Ray (Crystal), Dean (Louann), Fred (Niesey) and Dwight (Vikki) Matlock; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brother, Charlie (Linda) Matlock; three nieces; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, and sister, Emma Matlock.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Gomez Chapel A.M.E. Church 1509 Michigan Ave. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
