Gladys Marie Pittman of Rockford departed this earthly life December 9, 2024. She was born March 14, 1945 in Chidester, Arkansas the daughter of Franklin and Mattie Hughes. Gladys lived in Rockford most of her life, living in New York and N. Carolina before returning back to Rockford  over 25 years ago. She attended schools in Arkansas.

Gladys leaves to cherish many loving memories,  her brothers Frank Hughes and Joe Hughes a host of nieces and nephews including special niece Jennifer (Willie) Holland; and two special great nieces, Shaneka Smith and ShannTay Smith;. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Roosevelt Pittman; two sisters,

Shirley Smith and Geraldine Tanner.

Private Memorial services will be held at  a later date. Arrangements were completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
