Gregory Bernard Green Sr., of Rockford departed this earthly life April 4, 2022. He was born September 17, 1954, in Chicago, IL the son of Loretta Green and Albert Hunter, being raised by Loreace Burse. Gregory lived in Rockford most of his life coming from Chicago. He was employed as a machine operator many years by Amerock and Rockford Products before retiring.  Gregory attended Providence Baptist Church. He graduated from West High School class of 1972, later attending Rock Valley College.

Gregory leaves to cherish many loving memories, his sons, Gregory B. (Sun) Green II; and Evan Green; mother, Lorece Burse; sisters, Mary Poindexter, Debra Green, Rena (Herman) Santos, Rochelle (Tyrone) Walker; brothers, James (Dorothy) Threadgill, Maurice (Mary) Threadgill , Raymond (Theresa) Green, Michael Green; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his biological parents.

Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
