Gregory Thompson of Rockford departed this earthly life December 3, 2022. He was born June 2, 1960 in Rockford the son of Oscar and Jesteen Thompson. Gregory was a member of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church. He attended Auburn High School, later to receive his G.E.D. and attended Rock Valley College.

Gregory leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Bianca L. Webb and Amber C. Thompson; three grandchildren, Lonnie Young, Ajah Mubarak and Saletha Williams; mother Jesteen Thompson; five sisters, Beverly Thompson, Janet Richard, Susie Holmes, Vicky Jones and Helen Lynn; three brothers, Bobby (Carolyn) Watts, Lawrence (Ardine) Tennial and Ray Russey; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including special nephew, Denard Bell. He was predeceased by his father; and sister, Annette Russey.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m.. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Gethsemane Christian Church 4555 Spring Creek Road. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
