Heardscine Yowanda Glover Sockwell, of Rockford departed this earthly life November 9, 2022. She was born August 23, 1969 in Rockford the daughter of Mary Glover and William Thomas, being raised by her stepfather, Frank McCain. Wanda married her companion of 23 years, Nathanial Sockwell August 6, 2018. She was owner and operator of her home daycare. Wanda was a member of Greater New Jerusalem C.O.G.I.C. She graduated from West High School class of 1988.

Wanda leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband, Nathanial; son, Keon Wilkins; two daughters, Chelsea Wilkins and Na'quesha Glover; three grandchildren, Keontez, Ferrari  and Keyasia; father William Thomas; step father, Frank McCain; two brothers, Orlance Glover and William Moore; four sisters, Lorrie McCain, Kamille McCain, Monica Moore and Tesha Finklea, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary McCain; and sister, Latasha Glover.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church 1901 W. State St. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
