Helen LaRuth Holland of Rockford departed this earthly life March 8, 2024 in her home. She was born June 15, 1933 in Plummerville, Arkansas the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Laws. Helen lived in Rockford many years coming from Plummerville. She married David Ruffin of this union one son was born; later to marry, Phillip Holland, June 2, 1956; of this union five children were born; he preceded her in death. Helen was a member of North Park Church of Christ in Machesney Park, IL. She graduated from Plummerville High School class of 1951; later to attend St. Francis Nursing School and Hospital.

Helen leaves to cherish many loving memoires, her daughter LeAnne Douglas; four sons, David E. Ruffin, Carl (Jaton) Holland, Phillip (Eunice) Douglas and Mark (Karin) Douglas; 7 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Margaree Bray; a host of special nieces and nephews from Illinois, Arkansas, Tennessee and Texas. She was predeceased by her parents; husband; son, Kelvin L. Holland; brother, Harold Lee Douglas; and two sisters, Queen Esther Bell and Jerlyndia Douglas.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at North Park Church of  Christ 7620 Elm Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
