Helen Marie "Ree" Marks, of Rockford departed this earthly life March 12, 2022. She was born December 6, 1946, in Whiteville, TN the daughter of Berl and Linnie Lockett. Helen lived in Rockford 63 years, coming from Bolivar, TN.  She married Willie Marks , he preceded her in death. Helen was a former member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  She graduated from Allen White High School in Bolivar, later attending Rockford College.

Helen leaves to cherish many loving memories, son, Timothy (Teresa) Lockett; three grandchildren, including special grandson who she raised, Deshaun Holliman; and two granddaughters, Rachel and Akiko Foreman; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Bernice McKinnie, Ruby McKinnie and Cynthia (Jerry) Girley-Hamilton; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents,  husband, son, Aubrey Lockett; brother, Albert Lockett; two sisters, Georgie Jarrett and Ileane Girley-Abraham.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N .Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held 12:00 noon until the time of service.
