Imogene "Jean" Williams, of Rockford departed this life November 3, 2023.  She was born October 7, 1954 in Sallis, MS; the daughter of John and Mable Suggs.  Imogene lived in Rockford most of her life, coming from Mississippi.

Imogene graduated from McAdams High School in Mississippi and later attended the Rockford Beauty School, from which she received her Cosmetology license.  She was a member of The New Birth Kingdom Pentecostal Deliverance Church.

Imogene leaves to cherish many loving memories, her daughter, Sharita Blakely; son, Christopher (Sheila) Suggs; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; four sisters, Charlean McBride, Carmen (Eddie) Young, Annie (Randy) Nelson, and Patricia (Paul) Meola; three brothers, Lucius Suggs, JC (Charmayne) Suggs, and Floyd Suggs; a host if nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was predeceased by her son, Corey Suggs; her parents; four brothers (William Lee, Earl, John Henry, and Roy Suggs); and her sister Minnie McNeally.

Homegoing Service will be held at 1PM Friday, November 17, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc.  200 N Johnson Ave. Rockford, IL.  The Visitation will be held the same day from 11AM until the time of service.
