Irene Brown

Irene Elizabeth “Bay Bay” Brown of Rockford departed this earthly life September 25, 2026. She was born October 28, 1948 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Mary Lou Brown. Irene lived in Rockford since 1995 coming from Chicago, IL. She was self-employed many years as a home childcare provider. Irene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She attended school in Chicago.

Irene leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Jarene (Namon Bingham) Brown and Jaree Brown; six sons, Irvin, Eric, Alan, William, Simeon and Tizio Brown; 32 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; twin sister, Carmera Darlene Johnson; and brother, Elzer Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Mary Lou Brown; two sisters, Gladys Brown and Arnetta Lottie; two brothers, Wardell and Junior Brown.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
