Irma Jean Barbary of Madison, WI departed this earthly life January 29, 2022. She was born April 3, 1948 in Chicago the daughter of Linnie Simpson. Irma lived in Rockford many years before moving to Madison 10 years ago. She married Jack Barbary September 23, 1975 in Rockford. Irma was last employed as a Central Supply Technician by Swedish American Hospital. She was a devout member of Jehovah Witness.  Irma graduated Dusable High School, later attending Malcolm X College.

Irma leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband, Jack; three daughters, Angela Simpson, Katrina (Jeff) Jones-Butterworth and Stephanie Barbary; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren;  mother Linnie Simpson; sisters, Joyce Simpson, Bertha Twine Simpson and Dorothy (Leo) Tamura; brothers, Billy Simpson and Dyral (Kathy) Simpson; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Adrinan Renee Barbary.

Irma Jean Barbary Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 19, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
