James Columbus "Antonio" Alexander, departed this earthly life December 16, 2024. He was born January 12, 1961 in Memphis, TN the son of Columbus Alexander and Verlena Scott. James lived in Rockford since 1983 coming from Memphis, TN. He was employed as a caretaker doing home health care.  James attended Schools in Memphis TN.

James leaves to cherish many loving memories, his three daughters, Janeia Beeks, Verlena Kearney and Angel Alexander; three sons,  Jason Beeks, Aaron and Antonio Alexander; former wife, Rita Beeks; 14 grandchildren; sister, Mattie Jones; and brother, Oliver Scott;  a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including; fiancée, Kathy Wesly; special friends James Denny, Kenny Jones, Horace Joiner, Thaddius Harris and Anthony Staten; god sister, Brenda Brooks. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Ellen Simpson, and Joyce Scott; brother, Michael Alexander; and favorite cousin, Nathan J. Smith.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m.  Friday, January 3, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
