James Henry Gray, 67, of Rockford departed this earthly life November 15, 2024. He was born March 16, 1957 in Camden, Arkansas the son of Earnestine Gray and James Kelly. James lived in Rockford since 2005 coming from Reno, Nevada. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor by Circus Circus Casino 20 years before retiring. James attended Rockford public schools.

James leaves to cherish many loving memories, his son, Quincy Sanders; step son, Roderick (Jennifer) Sanders; two granddaughters, Makayla and Maliyah Sanders; brothers; aunts, Celestine Baxter, Rose Sockwell, Joyce Boone and Sandra Geeter; uncles Elbert and Curtis Gray; a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by mother and father; and grandparents, Elbert and Jearlean Gray.

Services will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, November 29, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
