J.C. Tennial was born March 09,1958 to the parents of T.C. and Christine Tennial in Byhalia, MS. In 1966 Christine and her 9 children moved to Rockford, Il. Placing her membership at Westside Church of Christ, where J.C. was baptized into Christ on June 19,1968 and remained a faithful member of the Westside Church of Christ until his passing. J.C. attended West High School, and later receiving his GED at the Martin House on S. Main St. J.C. was employed as a machine operator and welder at K & J Finishing for many years, a carpenter alongside his brother-in-law Kenny Joe, and a mechanical worker on various local jobs.

J.C. leaves to treasure his memory 1 son: Tevin Tennial age 16, adopted daughter: MiKetha (Raymond) Searcy and granddaughter: Mirisha McDowell AKA: fatty.  His Dear mother: Christine King,(4) brothers: T.C. (Cheryl) Tennial of Norfolk, VA, Samuel Tennial of Merced, CA, Jasper R. Tennial of Memphis TN, Stanley Tennial of Jacksonville, TX.  (4) sisters: Bertha Bell-Udeze, Ida P. Fitzhugh, and   ChristerDale Swanson all of Las Vegas, NV, and Patty (Kenny) Joe of Findlay, OH/Rockford, IL. Special brother Chris Finley, and his 2nd mother mama Odessa Gulley, A host of nieces and nephews and the entire Westside congregation.  A special companion and Sis. In Christ: Sis Henrietta Mint, who was there to the last breath, Love you always, and his pet boo (Sweetie) A special "Wat Up Dough" to his adopted brother TJ Morgan, special close friends: Allen Hawthorne, Curtis Paschal, Scott Ellwanger, Phyllis Smith (Tevin) grandmother, Phillp Trammell (Dank), and Kirby Thompson. A dear special twin cousin: Wanda (Anderson) Hayes of Byhalia, MS and a special first cousin: Larry Dean Special nieces: Khaneidra Tennial (Ma Mook Mook) and Daija Joe (Da Day Day), special nephew:  Billy Joe Simmons (Boo Jojo). J.C. is predeceased by his father: T.C. Tennial, stepfather Bro. Murphy King, Auntie Rosie Dean, Uncle O'neal (Patricia) Tennial and Uncle Amos (Mamie) Tennial.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Westside Church of Christ 1523 Morgan Street. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
