Jerome Eugene "Jerry"  Brown also know as Coltrane entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born July 26, 1948, in Rockford the son of Thema Smith and Wes Pascal. Jerome attended Allen chapel A.M.E. Church as a child. He attended West High School. Jerome worked many jobs but was best know around the city as a handyman. Jerome played the saxophone for many professional artist as a young man.

Jerome leaves to cherish many memories, his daughter, Takoya Brown of Minnesota; three brothers, James Paschal, John Paschal and Jerald E. Smith; a host of nieces and nephews and friends and a very special sister in law, Delphia Brewington.

Jerome was predeceased by his parents, Wes Paschal and Thelma Smith; two brothers James E. Brown and Jeffery L. Smith; two sisters, Alice Hamilton and Jennifer Reed; nephew, Raymond L. Smith and niece, Jamiya Evens.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Doors will be open from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
