Joe Willie Addison

Joe Willie “Pookie” Addison of Rockford departed this earthly life June 26, 2026. He was born May 18, 1962 in Chicago, IL the son of Willie Mae Shannon and Joe Willie Simpson. Joe lived in Rockford 32 years coming from Freeport, IL. He was employed as a package handler by PCI 5 years. Joe was a member of second Baptist Church in Freeport, IL. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School.

Joe leaves to cherish many loving memories; his son, Jacoby Warfield; daughter, Jaquetta (Alex Gazaway) Warfield both of Louisville, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Jada, Jacoby and Jaden; great grandchildren, Jersey, Cameron, and Carter; mother, Willie Mae ( Rev. Earlie) Neely; sisters Annette Simpson, Janet (James) Russell, and Chrysta McClinton; ten brothers, Walter (Rhonda) Addison, Will Neely, Derrick Neely, Darrell (Sherrie) Cathey, Rayford Neely, Carlton (Kawonia) Neely, Todd Neely, Stephen Neely and Cherokee Neely; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends including special friend, Amy Nunez. He was predeceased by his father, Joe Willie Simpson; step father, Avance Addison; and brothers, Antohny Addison and Earlie Neely Jr.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 8, 2026 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church 2919 19th Street. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
