Johnny Alfonzo Richmond of Rockford departed this earthly life December 23, 2022. He was born January 18, 1938 in Pine Bluff Arkansas the son of  Tom and Mattie Richmond. Johnny lived in Rockford since the 1950s coming from Pine Bluff. He married Virginia Wofford February 2, 1974 in Rockford, she preceded him in death. Johnny was previously employed as a teacher by Rockford Public School, spent several years with the Rockford City Hall; retiring as a heavy machine operator with the City of Rockford Water Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving    . Johnny was a member of the American Legion.

Johnny leaves to cherish many loving memories, his daughter Tiffani Richmond Weatherly; two grand daughters, Taylor and Carrington Weatherly; two sisters, Sarah Alimah Sharif and Marcie Mae Richmond; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife; parents; 10 brothers and 6 sisters.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2022 at  New Zion Baptist Church 4726 Jasper St. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
