Juanita "Nita" James Craig, of Rockford departed this earthly life August 12, 2024. She was born November 11, 1968 in Rockford the daughter of Leroy and Georgie James. Juanita was an accountant for BMO Harris several years in Rockford, later working in banking while in Michigan. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia. Jaunita was a former member of Christian Union Full Gospel Church Ministries in Rockford.  She graduated from Auburn High School class of 1986, later graduating from Rockford Business College with her Associates Degree in accounting.

Juanita leaves to cherish many loving memories, her daughter, Makare Craig; and son, Jabari Craig; both of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Arguster James, Annie (Jesse) Gulley, Lois Chapel, Gloria James, Ruth (Floyd ) Walker and Karen Walker; brothers, Earl C. Jarrett, Dennis Walker and Jeff (Lois) Walker; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including special niece, Azuri Jarrett. She was predeceased by her parents Leroy and Georgie James; sister, Debra Walker and brother Roy James.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
