Katherine "Kat" Turner of Rockford departed this earthly life February 6, 2022. She was born February 7, 1949 in West, Mississippi the daughter of George and Florence Jordan. Katherine lived in Rockford over 45 years coming from Mississippi. She married Lee Otha Turner Sr., he preceded her in death.  Katherine was a member of Living Faith Tabernacle and former member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  She graduated from Durant Attendance Center.

Katherine leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Kathy Turner and Glory (Bernard) Erving; two sons, Lee Otha Turner Jr. and Robert (Akeyia) Turner; 15 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; sister, Mary McGee; a host of other relatives and friends including special niece, Dorothy Redd. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, four sisters, Cora Lee Washington, Ruby Johnson, Helen Scott and Lula B. Ellis; brother Clark Jordan and grandson Lee Otha Turner III.

Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
