Lacine Russey passed away on September 26, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 6, 1955 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Noble Benjamin Russey & Imo Jean Gulley-Russey. Lacine accepted Christ at an early age and attended Providence Baptist Church, she later changed her membership to City First formally First Assembly where she was a faithful  member for 34  years and during this time she assisted with children's church until her health begin to fail. Lacine graduated from Rockford Auburn High School.

Spending time with her children and grandchildren was the highlight of her life and brought her an abundance amount of joy. Lacine enjoyed gardening, going for walks on the bike path, sewing and talking to her twin sister multiple times a day in the phone. During football season she enjoyed watching the Chicago bears and then later discussing it with her brother Ben whom is another avid Bears Fan.

Lacine leaves to cherish many memories three sons Terry Russey Marlon Russey, & Xavier Russey, daughter Emmeretta Russey, Stepdaughter Charo Lane four brothers Benjamin (Cristina) Russey, Donald (Lottie) Russey, Herman Russey, Lee (Debra) two sisters Maxine Scott, and Angela Russey daughter in law Melissa Singleton, 14 Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren,  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends including Tamara Ray & Gail Anderson the mothers' of her grandchildren. Special Aunt Margaret Story Chidester AR whom has been a constant presence in Lacine's life.

She was predeceased by her parents Noble Benjamin & Imo Jean Russey, daughter Latricia Russey sister Annette Russey, brothers George Russey & Bruce Russey.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.  Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
