Latoya Shanta Franklin-Cooper of Janesville WI, departed this earthly life May 29, 2022. She was born January 24, 1982 in Rockford the daughter of Lori D. Franklin and Vincent Weems. Latoya lived in Janesville, 21 years after leaving Rockford. She married Demetrious Cooper Sr., September 25, 2000. She attended church in Janesville. Latoya attended Auburn and Jefferson High Schools, later receiving her GED from Roosevelt Adult Alternative School and received her Certified Nurses Assistant certification, from Blackhawk Tech College in Beloit, WI.

Latoya leaves to cherish many loving memories, husband, Demetrious Cooper; three sons, Meovouci, Meovonte and Demetrious Cooper Jr; parents, Lori Franklin and Vincent Weems; four sisters, China Franklin, Mahoganie Franklin, Kyuna Beasley and Anaya Weems; three brothers, Tavaurs Taylor, Shannon Wallace, and Delanio Benford; maternal grandmother, Verretta Franklin; and paternal grandmother, Maxine Rhyne; godson, Roman Cunningham and god granddaughter, Kaloney Cunningham a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Terrika Cross, Sharlett George, Tamika Johnson Joanna Tucker and Fannie Hardin.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
