Lauticia  "Tish" Dawn of Rockford departed this earthly life October 18, 2022. She was born October 5, 1948 in Dallas, Texas; the daughter of Jacob W. Dawn and Bertha Mason Borden. Lauticia lived in Rockford most of her life coming from Dallas. She was employed as a secretary by Rockford Life Insurance Company 15 years before becoming self employed as a cosmetologist. Lauticia was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church. She graduated from West High School and Alta more Cosmetology School.

Lauticia leaves to cherish many loving memories, son, Derrick (Ladonna) Bassett; step daughter, Tonya Scott; 16 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; sisters, Dalisa Borden, Diane Jarrett, Reshane Dawn-Fowler and Iris Roland; brother, Benotha Dawn; god son, Tony Childress; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Jacob Dawn and Bertha Borden and step father, Carl Borden; daughter, Danita Bassett; son, Isaac D. Bassett; grandsons, Latrell Bassett and Mathew Johnson; sisters, Maxine Sharp, Bertha N. Rucker, Shannon Dawn; and niece, Kiara Howard. Special thanks to Teyachta Bunch for the love and care given to Lauticia.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
